News: Kosho Niwano Book Siging at USC
On Friday, April 26, 2013, Rissho Kosei-kai President-designate Kosho Niwano visited University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Attendees came from across the United States, including Hawaii, New York, Oklahoma, San Antonio, and locally from the Los Angeles area, including some USC students.
Lori Meeks, a professor of religious studies at USC welcomed guests. Dr. Miriam Levering provided a wonderful introduction of Kosho Niwano, including sharing how she lived in Rome for several years with her husband and attended a masters program on Catholicism.
Ms. Niwano shared her personal study of Buddhism and witness of liberation from suffering through following the teachings of the Lotus Sutra. She talked about through living with Founder Niwano, she learned daily examples of how to view experiences as opportunities to live with a Buddha heart.
Her talk was followed by Questions & Answers, kindly translated by the David Earhart for those who spoke English or Japanese.

During her visit to Los Angeles, Rev. Kosho Niwano spent time at Rissho Kosei-kai Buddhist Center of Los Angeles and at the North American headquarter, RKINA, in Irvine, California.
Kosho Niwano is president-designate of Rissho Kosei-kai, which now has some 1.5 million member households worldwide. She is the mother of four children.
